High School: Three-year varsity performer on tennis team and also was three-year varsity member of softball team and member of JV volleyball team… Member of MHSAA Upper Peninsula Division 2 girls tennis state championship team as a senior… Member of National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Born March 5, 2004… Daughter of Tom & Lynn Golfis… Majoring in business administration and sport management and leadership.

Greatest sports accomplishment: Being a part of winning U.P. champs for tennis my senior year of high school!
Hero(es)/most influential people: 1) My mom! She has been the most amazing supporter I could ever ask for! The most selfless and courageous woman I have known! 2) My (late) uncle Mike. He was an outstanding and energetic person. He cared so much about family and always made it his number one priority. He passed away in 2016, but truly has never been forgotten in the slightest. That's how much of an impact he made of so many people's lives.
Why did you choose Lakeland?  I chose Lakeland based off many factors and a pretty long story but, to keep it short, Lakeland always felt like home without even stepping on the campus. It was the only college that honestly kept in touch and actually answered questions honestly and in detail any time of the day when I had one. The campus and class sizes are just the right size and it always felt like Lakeland is the type of college to care about each and everyone of its students. From someone who has lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan their entire life, it was comforting knowing I won't be too far away from home. But, just the right amount of distance from its crazy snow storms they get each year. Lakeland isn't just a college campus for me, it's truly home.
