After a four-year career playing for the Lakeland women’s volleyball team, Allison Byrne joined the coaching staff in Jan. 2020 and is in her first year as a graduate assistant coach with the Muskies.
Byrne was a two-year team captain on the volleyball team and as a defensive specialist played in 84 matches in her four years with the Lakeland program, including as a regular in the rotation as a junior and senior. She posted career-best totals as a senior when she notched 294 digs and 42 service aces, ranking third on the team in aces and fourth in digs on a team that shared the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular season title.
Byrne also was a three-time NACC Scholar-Athlete Award winner. A native of Luxemburg, Wis., she completed her degree in mathematics from Lakeland in 3 1/2 years.
