Allison Byrne returns again as a part-time assistant coach for the Lakeland women’s volleyball team in 2024.
Byrne first joined the coaching staff as an assistant in Jan. 2020, upon her graduation and after playing for the Muskies. She was a two-year team captain on the volleyball team and as a defensive specialist played in 84 matches in her four years with the Lakeland program, including as a regular in the rotation as a junior and senior. She posted career-best totals as a senior when she notched 294 digs and 42 service aces, ranking third on the team in aces and fourth in digs on a team that shared the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular season title.
Byrne also was a three-time NACC Scholar-Athlete Award winner. A native of Luxemburg, Wis., she completed her degree in mathematics from Lakeland in 3 1/2 years.
