High School: Four-year letter winner on wrestling team and also lettered three years in football and two years in baseball… Three-time WIAA state qualifier in wrestling and finished third at state as a senior… Four-year captain on wrestling team and also was a two-year captain on football team… Five-time first team all-conference pick in football, including three times as an offensive lineman and also as an inside linebacker and kicker as a senior… Northern Border Conference defensive player of the year as a senior, when he also was named all-state as a linebacker… Honor roll student.
