Scott Pelot

Scott Pelot enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Lakeland wrestling program.

Pelot has coached for more than 25 years at many levels, including developmental, middle school, high school, and cadet/junior national teams.
Pelot has headed up X-Factor Elite Wrestling Club the past 11 years and continues to. This program has had enormous success in all three main styles of wrestling-folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman. Pelot has taken wrestlers all over the United States to competitions, and the program won an USA Folkstyle National Championship in 2008 and was runners-up in 2009.

Individually, the program has produced two USA World Team members, a USA Pan American Games team member, a USA Wrestling Triple Crown, 2 American Crown Awards, 6 Ultimate Dominator Belts, 12 USA National Champions, 161 USA All-Americans, 114 Wisconsin State Champions, over 500 Wisconsin State place winners and numerous other team and individual achievements from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Besides X-Factor Elite, Pelot has been an assistant coach at Two Rivers High School the previous five years, helping turn the program into one of Wisconsin’s elite programs. In addition, Pelot has been on the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation staff for the past five years, the last three as a junior Greco coach.

Pelot also has coached numerous youth and high school programs, where his teaching of the technique has been the constant. He previously has served as head coach at Manitowoc Lincoln and Mishicot high schools.

Pelot graduated with a bachelor's in broadfield social science with a 6-12 education certification from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc. He also earned a certification in at-risk education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Pelot currently resides in Manitowoc with his wife Jennifer and their three children: Ashley, Courtney and Ty, who currently competes in Greco-Roman while training at the Olympic Training Site in Marquette, Mich.
