Biography

2015-16: Battled injures throughout the season and finished with four wins on the year… Fifth-place finish at the UW-Oshkosh Dan Gable Open… Won the team’s Kudek Academic Achievement Award for the second straight year.

2014-15: Hampered by an injury mid-season but finished his freshman year with an 8-9 record competing in the 133- and 141-pound weight classes… Finalist in the UW-Oshkosh Dan Gable Open… Selected as Lakeland's Freshman of the year and also won the team's Kudek Academic Achievement Award.

High School: Three-year letter winner in both wrestling and soccer… Named a two-time all Fox Valley Association selection in wrestling, including once as a first team selection… Team captain as a senior and qualified for the WIAA Division I State Championships… Also as a senior was member of team winning the first team state title in program history.… Also captain and honorable mention all-conference pick in soccer… Academic honor student.

Personal: Born Aug. 13, 1995… Son of Justi Vander Velden… Majoring in business administration.
