High School: Four-year letter winner on wrestling team… Two-time South Suburban Conference champion individually and member of conference championship team as a senior… Regional champion and state qualifier as a senior, when he finished fourth individually in 113-pound class at state to earn all-state honors… Member of team that went to state as a sophomore and senior, including team that finished third in state as a senior… Won SSC academic award… Honor roll student.
Personal: Born Oct. 27, 1998… Son of Kurt & Kelly DeGroot and has one brother (Christian) and one sister (Kara)… Majoring in business administration.
