Gabe Maynes is in his first year as an assistant coach with the Lakeland football team in 2024, serving as a graduate assistant with the offense for the Muskies.
Maynes joins the coaching staff after a four-year career playing for the Muskies. He played in 32 games over four years, including the brief 2020-21 COVID-19 affected spring season. Maynes spent his first three seasons as a running back, rushing for 286 yards and three touchdowns in that time, including his first career 100-yard rushing game gaining 109 yards and scoring two touchdowns in the 2022 season finale against Rockford. He then moved to defensive back for his senior season and made 15 tackles, including a season-high five tackles in the season opener against UW-Platteville.
Maynes is a native of El Paso, Texas and was a resident assistant at Lakeland as an undergrad. He graduated with a degree in sport management and leadership with a minor in psychology.
