Heather Robare

Lakeland University alum Heather Robare is in her fourth year as head coach of the Muskies women’s soccer program.

Robare has led the Muskies to 13 wins in her first three years as head coach, including a 2-11-3 overall mark in 2024. A campaign that was disrupted by injuries included a school-record for ties in a season, including ties with Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference rivals Benedictine and Concordia Chicago for the first time in program history. Despite winning two less games in the NACC than the previous year, Lakeland actually moved up a spot in the conference standings on the strength of its three ties.

The Muskies improved their win total in each of Robare’s first two years as head coach, including a 6-12 record in her second season in 2023. The six wins were the team’s most in a season since 2018 and tied for the most by a Lakeland women’s soccer team in 17 years.

Robare took over as head coach in January 2022, and in her first season the Muskies posted a 5-13 record. The five wins were more than the previous two seasons combined. Lakeland also won three of its first four matches, tying for the best start through four games in program history.

Robare is a 2004 graduate of Lakeland who played soccer for the Muskies from 1999-2002, and as a freshman she was part of the first Lakeland women’s soccer team to post a winning record. Since then she has gained significant experience coaching at the high school and club levels, including the last 15 years with Lakeshore United FC in Sheboygan.

Robare currently is the Academy and Technical Director for Lakeshore United leading the club's youth development programs. She coaches under-11 (U-11) and U-12 teams with the club. Robare holds her United States Soccer Federation (USSF) C license and also is a coach for U.S. Soccer's Olympic Development Program with Wisconsin's 2007 older girls team.

Robare also coached soccer at Sheboygan South High School for eight years, including four years as head coach, and also coached one year at Sheboygan Lutheran High School. She is a native of Roscoe, Ill., a graduate of Hononegah High School, and played both at the high school and club levels.

Robare received her degree from Lakeland in elementary education, taught for a number of years in the Sheboygan Area School District, and in 2014 completed her master's in educational technology from Concordia University Wisconsin.
