Kyle Quintell is in his second year as head coach of the Lakeland men’s soccer team in 2025.
Quintell was officially named the full-time head coach for the program in Nov. 2024 after carrying the interim head coach title for the 2024 season, which he received after former head coach Rick Mobley resigned in June 2024. Quintell guided Lakeland to a 4-14-1 record last year and a 2-9-1 mark in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The Muskies defeated Wisconsin-Stout in the programs’ first-ever meeting and also topped NACC rival Wisconsin Lutheran for just the second time in the teams’ last 13 meetings, and Lakeland was close to a much better record with seven games decided by a goal or less and a 2-4-1 mark in those games.
Quintell took over as head coach after four seasons as an assistant on the Lakeland men's soccer coaching staff. He stepped into a full-time role at Lakeland in 2022 after two years as the men's program's graduate assistant. He also assisted with the women's soccer team in the 2021 season when Mobley was the women's team's interim coach.
Quintell has filled multiple roles at Lakeland, including as director of operations for both the Muskies men’s and women’s soccer programs. In addition to serving as an assistant coach with both teams, Quintell handled day-to-day operations for both programs with his duties including the oversight of recruiting, fundraising efforts, academic support, scheduling and travel.
Quintell came to Lakeland following a four-year career for the rival Marian University men’s soccer program. He played in a total of 39 matches from 2016-19, starting 22, and was a starter his final two years as a defender.
Quintell has completed his United States Soccer Federation C License, and assisted the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association’s U19 boys team in winning the President’s Cup. He also has coached in the WYSA’s Olympic Development Program, previously for boys in age groups born in 2005 and 2007 and currently with the program’s 2008 boys.
Quintell also coaches with the Lakeshore United Futbol Club in Sheboygan, and last year coached the U17 and U19 boys teams for the club. He previously was the head varsity girls soccer coach at Port Washington High School in Port Washington and director of coaching and academy director for the Port Washington Soccer Club.
Before coming to Lakeland, Quintell served as head coach of the Kohler High School junior varsity girls soccer team for one year and head freshman girls basketball coach at Fond du Lac High school for two seasons. He has also been an assistant coach with the Fond du Lac Youth Soccer Association since 2016.
A native of Genoa, Ill., Quintell graduated from Marian in May of 2020 with a double major in sports and recreation management and marketing and a minor in athletic coaching. He completed his MBA from Lakeland in 2021.
