Mike Lopez is in his second year as an assistant coach with the Lakeland men’s wrestling team in 2024-25 and is again working with wrestlers in the light weight classes.
Lopez is a former NCAA Division III national champion and also has a number of years of experience as a coach, including three years coaching at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Competing at Luther (Iowa) College, he was an Iowa Conference champion, a three-time national qualifier and a two-time NCAA All-American, and in 2006 was the Division III national champion at 133 pounds.
Lopez won 118 matches in his collegiate career and was inducted into the Luther Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016.
