ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Alec Redlich (Sr.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) and Matt Stolz (So.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) combined for 31 kills and the Lakeland College men's volleyball team rebounded after dropping the first set to defeat Fontbonne (Mo.) University Saturday afternoon in a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League match.

The Muskies came back to win 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17 to improve to 14-16 overall and 7-6 in the MCVL. Lakeland stayed in contention for a spot in the four-team MCVL Tournament, as it is now tied with Milwaukee School of Engineering for fourth place with one regular season game remaining for both teams.

The Muskies opened with 11 attack errors in the first set but played better from there, hitting .271 for the rest of the match. Lakeland finished hitting .213 for the match with 57 kills and 27 errors in 141 attempts.

Redlich had 16 kills and Stolz added 15 more, with Tim Robbins (Fr.-Wheaton, Ill.) also pitching in nine kills and Jeremy Mark (Sr.-Roselle, Ill.) adding seven more in 12 attempts.

Cole Aiazzi (Sr.-Yerington, Nev.) had 26 digs in another outstanding outing defensively, while Stolz and Redlich both added 11 digs each. Jordan Smith (Sr.-Channahon, Ill.) passed out 38 assists form the setter position, while Kevin Munoz (Jr.-Chicago, Ill.) also added 10 assists.

Lakeland wraps up its regular season on Wednesday when it hosts nationally ranked Dominican (Ill.) University at 7 p.m. at the Woltzen Gymnasium. The match will serve as Senior Night for five members of the team.
