Allison Errthum (
So.-Joliet, Ill.) and
Kathy Flanagan (
Jr.-Midlothian, Ill.) led the way as the Lakeland College women's volleyball team bounced back from a first-set defeat to overcome Wisconsin Lutheran College in four sets Wednesday night in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match.
The Muskies topped the Warriors 22-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-17 to ring up their fourth straight win and improve to 7-8 overall. Lakeland also is now 2-0 in NACC play, while WLC dropped to 6-12 overall and 0-3 in conference.
Errthum finished with a team-high 13 kills and also was busy defensively with 21 digs. Flanagan added 11 kills and also keyed a Muskie defense that was strong at the net, finishing with six blocks (two solo, four assisted).
Brittini Scoles (
So.-Kewaskum, Wis.) also added nine kills as Lakeland hit .214 for the evening with 46 kills and 13 errors in 154 attempts. The Muskies also added nine team blocks, with
Emilie Schartner (
Fr.-Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) and
Taylor Levitt (
Jr.-Schaumburg, Ill.) adding three block assists.
Caleigh Galvan (
Sr.-New Lenox, Ill.) finished with 31 digs, while
Brooke Aiazzi (
Sr.-Yerington, Nev.) also added 13 digs. Levitt set the offense with 42 assists and also posted a team-high two service aces.
The Muskies are back on the road this weekend for the NACC-IIAC (Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Challenge in Dubuque, Iowa. Lakeland begins play Saturday against Luther (Iowa) College at 1 p.m.
