The Lakeland University men's soccer team will host one of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's premier programs when it welcomes Milwaukee School of Engineering for its final home match of the season at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Raiders (10-6 overall, 5-2 NACC) are the two-time defending NACC Tournament champions and enter the match third in the conference standings after recently knocking off second-place Benedictine 3-2. Lakeland also still has designs on a possible spot in the six-team conference tourney, as it sits just one game out of a tie for sixth in the NACC entering today.
The Muskies (4-11 overall, 2-5 NACC) are coming off a hard-earned 3-2 win over Edgewood on Saturday.
Josh Hogan (
So.-Urbana, Ill.) scored a goal and added an assist,
Brian Herrmann (
Jr.-Hortonville, Wis.) added a goal and
Charles Apostolik (
So.-New Castle, Colo.) scored what proved to be the game-winner in the second half.
Thomis Mannebach (
Jr.-Florence, Wis.) made seven saves in goal.
Lakeland is playing the final match in a five-game home stand and its final of nine home matches this season. The Muskies wrap up their regular season with matches on the road at Aurora on Saturday and at Concordia Wisconsin next Wednesday.
