The Lakeland University men's soccer team begins a five-game homestand on Tuesday when it welcomes Lawrence University for a 4 p.m. match on campus.
The Muskies enter with a 2-9 overall record and were last defeated by Benedictine 3-0 Saturday night in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match. The Eagles-undefeated in the NACC-controlled possesion and scored in the 25th and 53rd minutes and then added an insurance goal in the 80th minute.
Thomis Mannebach (
Jr.-Florence, Wis.) made seven saves in goal.
The Vikings (3-7 overall) were defeated by Lake Forest (Ill.) 7-2 on Saturday at home in a Midwest Conference match. Both Lawrence goals came on penalty kicks, as Taylor Reifert converted one in the first half and Deremo scored on one with a minute left in the match.
Lakeland and Lawrence are meeting for the 26th time in a series that dates all the way back to 1974, the first year of soccer at Lakeland.
