The Lakeland College men's volleyball team will make its debut in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Tournament when it faces Milwaukee School of Engineering in a semifinal match Friday at 4 p.m. at Carthage College in Kenosha.
The third-seeded Muskies (17-8 overall) will take on the No. 2 seed Raiders (17-8 overall) in the first of two semifinals. Top seed Carthage will host fourth-seeded Dominican (Ill.) University in the second semifinal at 7 p.m., and the winners will face off in the championship match Saturday at 2 p.m.
Lakeland played its way into the MCVL tourney by defeating Dominican and Benedictine last weekend to finish 10-3 in league play. MSOE-ranked 13th in the latest AVCA/NCAA Division III Top 15 Coaches' Poll-defeated nationally ranked Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) in five sets to finish 12-1 in the MCVL this year.
MSOE won the teams' first match this year, scoring a 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-15 victory at Lakeland three weeks ago. The Muskies lead the all-time series 4-3.
