Lakeland University and Ripon College will renew their regularly played series for the 15th time Thursday when the Muskies host the Red Hawks for a non-conference match at 4:30 p.m. on the campus pitch.
Lakeland enters still looking for its first win of the season and is 0-3 after three tough matches early on. Most recently, the Muskies fell to Millikin (Ill.) 8-2 on Labor Day, with
Nwachan (Ayoko) Nda (Sr.-Douala Litoral Region, Cameroon) and
Charles Apostolik (So.-New Castle, Colo.) scoring goals.
Ripon comes in with a 1-2 mark and lost to Lakeland's Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference rival Edgewood 7-0 on Tuesday. The Red Hawks are coached by Zach Hershoff, a former graduate assistant with the Muskies men's program from 2011-13.

Lakeland holds an 8-5-1 lead in the all-time series, with all 14 previous meetings coming since 1997. Lakeland also owns the last win by either team, a 2-0 victory Aug. 31, 2013 at Ripon in the season opener that year. Farouk Dadzie and
Renan Asato (
Sr.-Sao Paolo, Brazil) scored goals in that game, the latter being Asato's first collegiate goal as a freshman. The most recent meeting in the series was a scoreless tie on Aug. 30, 2014, a match where the Muskies owned a 20-3 advantage in shots but were unable to push one across. Ripon's last win over Lakeland came six years ago today, a 3-1 win right here in 2010.
