MADISON – The Lakeland University women's basketball held Edgewood College to 17.9% shooting and never trailed in a 64-32 win Wednesday night at the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
The Muskies won their seventh straight game, continuing their longest winning streak since winning nine straight in the 2011-12 season. Lakeland also completed a season sweep of the winless Eagles, improving its record to 11-5 overall and 9-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
The Muskies limited the Eagles to 10 made field goals in 56 attempts and didn't allow a made field goal until 13 seconds remained in the first quarter. By that time they had already built a 14-2 lead, including scoring the game's first 10 points.
Edgewood (0-16 overall, 0-11 NACC) warmed up in the second quarter and was still within 11 points late in the quarter when Cali Twet hit a three-pointer. Lakeland finished the quarter with eight straight points, though, with
Rachel Hasko (
Fr.-Racine, Wis.) scoring a layup with nine seconds left in the half for a 35-16 lead.
Bailey Grayvold (
Sr.-Norway, Mich.) scored 20 points and added five steals to lead the Muskies.
Rachel Stankevich (
Jr.-Goodman, Wis.) added 16 points and six rebounds, making 8 of 13 field goal attempts.
Miranda Jacobson (
So.-Felch, Mich.) finished with six points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
