The Muskies rebounded nicely from consecutive losses, never trailing in defeating the Eagles to improve to 2-2 overall. Lakeland also won its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opener for the season, opening its 20-game league slate with a road win.
Hasenstein broke out by making 7 of 12 shots from the field, 3 of 5 from the three-point line and all nine of his free throws, easily topping his previous career best of 18 points set as a freshman last year. His 26 points also nearly matched the 27 he scored in the Muskies' first three games this season.
Anderson also provided an unexpected scoring boost, hitting four three-point attempts for a career-high 12 points while also playing a career-best 23 minutes. Three of his triples came in the first half when Lakeland took control and built a 16-point halftime lead.
Anderson's first three with 15:06 left in the first half gave the Muskies a 10-7 lead and started a 19-2 run as they would never trail again. Lakeland went on to make eight three-pointers in the opening half and 14 in the game, hitting nearly 50% from beyond the arc (14 of 30).
