Emma Bruder (

The Muskies earned their second Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win of the season by a 25-18, 25-22, 25-21 count, defeating an old nemesis for the second straight year in improving to 9-6 overall and 2-1 in the NACC. Edgewood dropped to 2-11 overall and 1-2 in conference play after its sixth straight loss.
Lakeland repeatedly kept points alive with scrambling defense, especially in the early going, making the guests work for every point.

Brianna Johnson (
Sr.-Altoona, Wis.) added 11 digs, giving the Muskies three in double figures in digs in the three-set match. The back row defense helped limited to Edgewood to a .126 attack percentage for the match with 38 kills and 22 errors in 127 swings.
Lakeland eventually picked up the pace hitting and finished the match with 37 kills and just 12 errors in 112 attempts for a .223 hitting percentage.

The Muskies also finished strong in all three sets, including second and third sets that included plenty of back and forth in the scoring.
The Muskies led most of the first set, with a 7-1 run including three kills from the middle by Goeser giving them a 21-14 lead. Lakeland also scored the final four points of the set after Edgewood briefly closed within 21-18.
The Eagles had a solid chance to get even in the match, leading 17-14 in the second set. Lakeland rallied to tie it at 20-20, though, and then closed it out with an Edgewood service error, a kill from Welsh and an Eagles attack error for the final three points.
The teams were close in both the second and third sets, with a combined 20 ties and eight lead changes in the two sets. The Muskies again pulled through late in the third, though, with Arbetman delivering a pair of kills as part of a four-point run to take a 19-16 lead, and Lakeland then closed with five of the final seven points, with Bishop's kill closing it out.
Neenah Primas (
