Lakeland/Wisconsin Lutheran game notes
The Lakeland University men's soccer team continues its longest homestand of the season when it welcomes Wisconsin Lutheran College for a 7 p.m. start Wednesday night at Taylor Field.
The Muskies will try again to record their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win of the season after falling in their first two conference matches. Wisconsin Lutheran is in the same boat, also coming in 0-2 in NACC play.
Lakeland (3-7-1 overall) was shut out by Rockford 4-0 in its last game on Saturday at home. The Regents scored two goals 1:04 apart in the middle of the first half to take the lead and the Muskies could mount only sporadic threats the rest of the way.
Alex VandenAvond made seven saves in goal.
Wisconsin Lutheran (4-4 overall) was defeated by Dominican 3-0 at home in Milwaukee on Saturday. The Stars scored first midway through the first half, added a second goal in the 32nd minute and tacked on another just after halftime. The loss was the Warriors' third straight after a 4-1 start to the season.
