The Lakeland University men's soccer team will play its second-to-last home match of the season, and a rare mid-week game during daytime when it hosts Illinois Institute of Technology Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Taylor Field.
The Muskies and Scarlet Hawks will meet for just the third time ever, with previous meetings won by IIT last year and in 2004. Eighth-year Illinois Tech coach Marc Colwell has been on hand for all three games, including the first-ever meeting in 2004 when he was head coach of both the Lakeland men's and women's soccer teams.
Lakeland (3-13-1 overall, 0-8 NACC) was defeated last time out by conference co-leader Aurora 6-0 on the road Saturday. The Spartans jumped out to a lead less than three minutes into the match and scored five times in the first half on the way to staying perfect in NACC play.
