The Lakeland University men's volleyball team is back home and will step out of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play to face Graceland University Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Muskies and Yellowjackets will meet for the first time ever, with Lakeland (7-10 overall) in action one night after falling to nationally ranked Milwaukee School of Engineering in five sets last night in NACC play. MSOE rallied back for a 29-31, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12 victory in a match where
Nathan Vanderwaal set a career high with 19 kills.
Dakota Hunter also added 17 kills, and the Muskies posted a .222 hitting percentage, their best attack percentage in a loss this season.
The Yellowjackets come up from Lamoni, Iowa, and are in the midst of a three-match trip through Wisconsin. Graceland (6-12 overall) defeated Maranatha Baptist in four sets on Monday as Naone Passi posted 23 kills while Jeminae Solomua (13) and Keone Coronado (10) also finished in double figures in kills. The Yellowjackets are a member of the National Assocation of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and will conclude their Wisconsin tour with a match at Viterbo University in La Crosse tomorrow afternoon.
