MILWAUKEE – Nick Larson (Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) and Jacob Larson (Jr.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) both were double-winners as the Lakeland University men's tennis team picked up its first dual win of the season by defeating Wisconsin Lutheran College 6-3 Saturday afternoon at Marquette University's Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

The Muskies won for the first time in nearly two years, since defeating Wisconsin Lutheran 6-3 on April 25, 2019. Lakeland improved to 1-2 overall and moved to 1-1 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play.

Nick and Jacob Larson teamed up at No. 1 doubles early on for an 8-3 win over Ryan Crick and Quinn Wedel. Nick Larson then would defeat Crick 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Jacob Larson outlasted Wedel in three sets for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 comeback victory at No. 2 singles.

Lakeland's Evan Vorpahl (Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) also added a win in singles, topping WLC's Bryce Halvorsen 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 3 flight. The Muskies also picked up a pair of wins by default at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles against the shorthanded Warriors.

Lakeland is in action again Sunday when it takes on Edgewood College at home at Sports Core in Kohler starting at 1 p.m.
