FOREST PARK, Ill. – The Lakeland University men's tennis team continued its longest winning streak in more than a decade with a 6-3 dual victory over Dominican University Sunday.

The Muskies won four of six matches in singles play and two of three in doubles to improved to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Lakeland has won three straight dual matches, the longest winning streak since the Muskies won four straight matches late in the 2010 season.

Nick Larson (Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.), Jacob Larson (Jr.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) and Sterling Reilly (Fr.-Medford, Wis.) all were double-winners, victorious in singles and doubles. Nick Larson won at Number 1 singles, topping Diego Martinez 6-2, 6-1, and Jacob Larson defeated Joshua Sapnu 7-5, 6-1 and No. 2 singles. The Larsons also teamed up to defeat Martinez and Sapnu at No. 1 doubles 8-2.

Reilly won his second straight singles match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Andre Rodriguez at No. 5 singles. Reilly also joined Evan Vorpahl (Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) at No. 2 doubles for an 8-5 victory over Andre Duran and Samuel Pardinas.

Aaron Smith (Jr.-Lake Geneva, Wis.) also added his first singles win of the season, outlasting Pardinas 7-6 and 7-6 at No. 3 singles. Smith and Eric Bredlow (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) also challenged before falling at No. 3 doubles 8-5 to Rodriguez and Alexis Morales.

Lakeland is back in action next Sunday when it hosts Concordia University Wisconsin at Sports Core in Kohler.
