Primas, Pingitore, Baumgartner all receive NACC women’s volleyball honors

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Lakeland University's Abby Baumgartner (Sr.-Kewaunee, Wis.), Sydney Pingitore (Jr.-Kenosha, Wis.) and Neenah Primas (Sr.-Oostburg, Wis.) all received major honors as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced its 2020-21 women's volleyball postseason awards Monday afternoon.

Baumgartner, Pingitore and Primas all were named to the nine-player all-North Division team for the 2020-21 season contested in the spring. Primas also claimed a second honor as she was named the division's co-Player of the Year, and Pingitore was named the division's Defensive Player of the Year.

Primas shares the North Division's top player award and was named a first team all-NACC selection for the second straight year. The 5-foot-5 senior setter finished the season with 402 assists, 135 digs, 31 kills, 10 blocks and nine service aces, leading the NACC in assists and ranking second in the conference in assists per set (8.93). She also is 10th in the conference in digs. Including a second team all-NACC recognition in 2018 as a sophomore, it is the third time she has received all-conference honors.

Pingitore was named a first team all-conference pick for the first time in her career after leading the NACC with 6.09 digs per set and 274 digs. The 5-foot-5 libero also ranks 14th nationally in NCAA Division III in digs/set and is 23rd nationally in total digs. Pingitore also led the Muskies with 15 service aces.

Baumgartner received first team honors for the first time after finishing the season with 153 kills, 100 digs, 20 blocks and 11 service aces. She led the Muskies and finished second in the NACC in kills and also was fourth in the conference in kills per set (3.40). Baumgartner also tied second for Lakeland in blocks and was third on the team in aces and fourth in digs.

The Muskies finished their abbreviated 2020-21 season with a 7-5 record and posted a 4-4 mark in the NACC North. Lakeland finished with a winning overall record for the third consecutive season and closed winning its final five regular season matches.
