Series history: 5th meeting, Lakeland leads 4-0
The Muskies and Warriors meet for the third time this season at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium after having also played a non-conference doubleheader almost a month ago on Feb. 10. Lakeland won the first set 27-25, 25-18, 25-13 and then prevailed 25-12, 21-25, 25-11, 25-15 in the second match to complete the sweep.

The teams also met twice last season in Wisconsin Lutheran's first season of men's volleyball, and Lakeland won both matchups in sweeps. The Muskies posted a 25-14, 25-9, 25-18 win on the road in Milwaukee Feb. 25, 2021 and then posted a 25-13, 25-21, 25-12 victory March 26. Lakeland set a new program and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference record with 23 service aces in the first match, with Ben Busalacchi setting a new single-match varsity record with seven aces. Matt Misheck then tied Busalacchi's single-match record with seven aces in the second meeting.

Lakeland last time out: Defeated Rockford 3-0 Saturday
The Muskies won for the first time in NACC play this season, sweeping the Regents 25-15, 25-20, 25-22 to snap a five-match losing skid. Lakeland came out strong with a dominant first set and then did enough in the final two sets, holding a slim lead most of the second set and coming back from a 12-8 deficit in the third set to close the match out. Ben Busalacchi finished wtih 10 kills, Drew Green paced the defense with seven digs, Tim Matijevic contributed four kills, three service aces and three blocks and Cam Ekum added four kills, 22 assists, three aces and six digs. The Muskies also finished with 10 service aces, their fourth match this season with at least 10 aces.

Wisconsin Lutheran last time out: Lost to Illinois Tech 3-0 Saturday
The Warriors remained winless on the season with a 25-14, 25-20, 25-17 loss to the Scarlet Hawks at home in Milwaukee. Joe Flett posted a career high with 12 kills and tied a career best with seven digs, but Illinois Tech won the first set comfortably and took over the final two sets after WLC staked an early lead in both. James Biedenbender added three kills and five digs and Isaac Stellick finished with 14 assists and four digs for the Warriors.

Recapping the first meetings: The Muskies won both matches last month, but the Warriors caused some problems, including taking the first set of the opener past 25 points before Lakeland pulled out the win. The second match saw WLC win a set for the first time in the young program's history, and it is still the only set the Warriors have won yet this season. Matt Misheck registered eight kills and Cam Ekum added 25 assists, eight digs and six service aces in the first match, while Ben Busalacchi finished with 12 kills, Ekum added 11 kills, 24 assists and five aces and Drew Green also finished with 15 digs in the second match. Joe Flett paced WLC with nine kills over the two matches and Logan Gryzwa added 10 digs for the Warriors in the first match.
