MEQUON, Wis. – The Lakeland University dropped its second Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference dual match of the weekend when it fell to Concordia University Wisconsin 8-1 Sunday afternoon on the outdoor courts on the CUW campus.
The shorthanded Muskies lost by an 8-1 score for the second straight day after having also fallen to Milwaukee School of Engineering by the same score on Saturday. Lakeland dropped to 1-9 overall and is 0-4 in conference duals.
Alessandro Bianchi (
Jr.-Venice, Italy) picked up the lone win for the Muskies against Concordia, winning a hard-earned marathon over Izak Roscher at Number 5 singles. Bianchi lost the opening set but fought back to win a tiebreaker in the second set and then a long tiebreaking third set, finally prevailing 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 12-10.
Jacob Larson (
Sr.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) picked up Lakeland's lone win on Saturday against MSOE, also coming back from losing the first set to defeat the Raiders' Alex Nakasato and No. 2 singles. Larson prevailed 3-6, 6-1, 10-4.

So.-Sheboygan, Wis.) pushed Concordia's No. 1 doubles team of Peter Naylor and Tim Peters before falling 8-5. The duo also fell to MSOE's Joe Chong and Daniel Lukasek at No. 1 singles 8-3.
Lakeland returns to competition on Saturday when it is at home to face Wisconsin Lutheran College at 9 a.m. at Sports Core in Kohler.
