Series history:Â 34th meeting, MSOE leads 19-14
Milwaukee School of Engineering is one of Lakeland's most-played opponents. MSOE has won the last three meetings, including a 9-0 victory last year at home in Milwaukee. The Raiders have won the last 14 on the field against the Muskies, though their 2018 win was forfeited after later finding an ineligible player was used. The series has been dominated by three winning streaks. The Raiders won the first six meetings, including the first meeting ever Oct. 28, 1995, and then posted a 10-game winning streak prior to the forfeit in 2018. In between, the Muskies won 13 straight, including their last win over MSOE by a 2-1 score Oct. 10, 2007 when Elisa Waltz and Jacqui Drexler scored goals.
Lakeland last time out: Lost to Dominican 6-0 Saturday
The Muskies played better than the final score indicated against the defending NACCÂ champions, with the Stars scoring their final two goals in the last three minutes, including a goal with a second left on the clock. Lakeland spent most of the match on defense but
Haley Rich made 13 saves and the Muskies were able to clear a number of charges by the Stars.
Faith Turley had the one shot attempt for Lakeland on a free kick.
MSOE last time out: Defeated Alverno 19-0 Saturday
The Raiders blew out the Inferno, scoring six of their seven first half goals in the match's first 20:09, and then added on 12 more goals in the second half. Twelve different players scored at least one goal against undermanned Alverno, including Elizabeth Kuhn and Daphne Milkert scoring three goals each.
MSOE was one of three teams to tie for the NACC regular season title last year with a 12-1 mark. The Raiders advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament, their third-ever trip to the national tourney, where they lost 2-1 in the first round to Calvin (Mich.). This year MSOE comes in with its lone loss a 1-0 defeat at Chicago. The Raiders also have tied three times, including most recently at Edgewood in NACC play last week.
