The Eagles hold a big edge in the series and have defeated the Muskies 22 straight times, a streak that dates back to 2004. Edgewood won last year's meeting 6-0 on the Eagles' home field in Verona, scoring three goals in both halves. Edgewood also won the most recent meeting at Taylor Field, edging Lakeland 1-0 after Grace Johnson made a penalty kick in the 66th minute. Lakeland last defeated Edgewood Oct. 23, 2004, scoring a 2-1 win that capped a run of four straight wins over the Eagles that also are the Muskies' only wins in the series.

Lakeland last time out: Lost to Augustana (Ill.) 1-0 Sunday
The Muskies were on the defensive much of the match but hung with the Vikings, surrendering only a single goal at 35:45 of the match. Augustana outshot Lakeland 19-3, including a 7-1 advantage in shot attempts. Ingrid Steinbock made six saves in goal for the Muskies while Malaya Sperber had both Lakeland shot attempts, including the team's best chance in the 85th minute before missing a shot from the right side just wide to the left. The Muskies were unable to win their second straight after a 10-1 win over Alverno last week and lost by a single goal for the third time in four losses this season.

Edgewood last time out: Lost to Grinnell 2-0 Sunday
The Eagles also played on Sunday and were done in by a pair of goals less than four minutes apart in the second half. Grinnell scored the match's first goal in the 63rd minute and then added a second goal in the 66th minute. Edgewood played the Pioneers evenly in the field as the teams tied for shot attempts (11-11) and the Eagles posted an 8-5 lead in shots on goal. Edgewood is still searching for its first goal of the season, though, having gone scoreless in its first five matches. The Eagles played Carroll to a scoreless tie in their previous game and lost to Carthage, UW-Stout and Central (Iowa) by a combined 9-0 score. Edgewood is led by a first-year coach in Joe Gulrajani, and the Eagles finished 15-5-1 overall last year and 10-2 in the NACC.
