FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Lakeland University women's volleyball team played largely error-free and got back on track in conference with a three-set road sweep of Marian University Thursday night at Sadoff Gymnasium.
The Muskies topped the Sabres 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match. Lakeland rebounded from a NACC loss last time out to defeat Marian for the ninth straight time, continuing a streak that dates back to 2017.
The Muskies (7-15 overall, 6-2 NACC) played from ahead almost the entire match, in part due to a .288 hitting percentage for the night. Lakeland finished with 39 kills and just nine errors in 104 attacks, well ahead of Marian's .067 mark that included 37 kills but also 29 hitting errors.
The Muskies trailed just once in the first set at 11-10 and trailed only briefly early in the second set before a 10-2 run netted an early 12-5 lead. The Sabres (8-14 overall, 2-6 NACC) also held a momentary lead early in the third set at 6-5 before Lakeland scored nine of the next 10 points to take control.
