Series history: 50th meeting, Edgewood leads 28-11-9
Lakeland and Edgewood are longtime rivals, going back to their days together first in the Lake Michigan Conference and more recently in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The Eagles have had the upper hand in the series more often than not, but the Muskies have had a recent run owning Edgewood, winning the last four meetings. Lakeland scored a 1-0 win on the road at Edgewood last year as Rafael Romero scored the lone goal with 52 seconds left in the match. The Muskies also dominated in a 7-0 win in Madison in 2022, and posted a 2-0 victory the last time the teams met at Taylor Field Oct. 13, 2021. Edgewood's last win in the series was a 3-2 victory on its home field Oct. 16, 2019.

Lakeland last time out: Lost to Ripon 3-1 Wednesday
Porter Gigstead scored his third goal of the season but the Muskies gave up an unfortunate goal early and then played the final 33 minutes down a man after a red card following a hard tackle. Lakeland played on largely even terms with the Red Hawks, with the teams tying 10-10 in shot attempts, but Ripon capitalized on opportunities, including a first goal after two Muskies collided and were down on the ground injured, allowing an easy tap-in goal to open the scoring. Eduardo Campuzano led Lakeland with three shot attempts and Zach Heiman and Matt English combined for four saves.

Edgewood last time out: Defeated Beloit 4-0 Saturday
The Eagles took down the longtime NACC power Stars, becoming the first team to clinch a spot in the NACC Tournament. Jack Knight scored the first goal in the 40th minute and Cristian Torres-Gale added an insurance goal in the 86th minute. Maverick Van Laanen made seven saves for the shutout and Edgewood won its third straight and ran its unbeaten streak to 14 matches, going 12-0-2 in that time. The Eagles have been the surprise of the conference this year, rising to the top after posting losing records the last five seasons. Edgewood improved to 8-9-3 last year in the first year under coach Tim Bruner, and this year is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll.
