MILWAUKEE – Emily Pautz (Sr.-Howards Grove, Wis.) and Yuu Narita (Jr.-Tokyo, Japan) led off with a win and the Lakeland University women's tennis team won every contested match in a 6-0 dual victory over Alverno College Wednesday night at McKinley Park.

The Muskies won both doubles matches to claim the doubles point and then took five singles matches in all to claim their first team victory of the season. Lakeland improved to 1-6 overall and is 1-5 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

Pautz and Narita paired up for the first time this season and posted a 6-1 win at Number 2 doubles over Alverno's Ililliana Coronado and Ivonna Gentry. Both also picked up singles wins, with Pautz defeating Gentry 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and Narita adding to her first collegiate doubles win with her first singles win, defeating Coronado 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

Alexis Labonte (Fr.-Portage, Ind.) also earned her first collegiate wins, including a 7-5, 6-3 No. 2 singles win over Morgan Golabowski. Labonte also teamed with Olivia Heling (Jr.-West Bend, Wis.) for a win at No. 1 doubles, the duo defeating Alverno's Golabowski and Riley Spencer 6-3.

Heling also picked up her first official win of the season. Lakeland's No. 1 singles player defeated Spencer 6-4, 6-0.

The Muskies compete at home for the first time in nearly a month on Saturday when they host Milwaukee School of Engineering at 10 a.m. at Sports Core in Kohler.
