The Lakeland University women's volleyball team will recognize its seniors before the match when it hosts Rockford University Saturday at noon at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies have largely dominated the series with the Regents with one notable exception. Lakeland has won 12 straight over Rockford, including a 25-19, 25-16, 25-14 victory on the road last year.
Susana Stevens pounded out 19 kills and
Maeve Sullivan finished with 16 digs as the Muskies swept the Regents for the 10th time in their last 11 meetings. Lakeland also swept the teams' last matchup at the Woltzen Gymnasium on Oct. 9, 2021. Rockford's lone win in the series came Oct. 2, 2010, when it pulled out a five-set win at home. The teams first met Sept. 25, 1997, with the Muskies winning in four, and then did not meet again until Oct. 6, 2006, when both were members of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Lakeland last time out: Defeated Alverno 3-0 Thursday
The Muskies handled business quickly Thursday night, needing just 63 minutes to finish a 25-7, 25-13, 25-10 win.
Susana Stevens finished with 18 kills and Lakeland hit a season-best .393 as a team and never trailed in the match. The Muskies also piled up a season-high 16 service aces, including four each by
Roseily Carrasquillo and
Rylee Esquibel and three more by
Ryan Figi. The 16 aces tied for the most by a Lakeland team since the Muskies piled up 17 aces against Rockford Oct. 17, 2015. The Muskies put together long runs in all three sets, scoring eight straight to close the first set, 11 in a row in the second set and then the first 10 points of the third set.
Rockford last time out: Lost to Edgewood 3-1 Thursday
The Regents were able to take a set from one of the NACC leaders but fell in four to the Eagles, 25-21, 25-11, 22-25, 25-13. Rockford took advantage of Edgewood spreading some playing time in the third set to get back in the match, but the Eagles went on a 13-0 run early in the fourth set en route to putting the match away. Madisen Perry led the Regents with a match-high 15 kills and Jasmine Landberg also took match honors with 21 digs. Rockford hit just .057 as a team with 37 kills and 29 errors and fell in its first NACC match since its first win over Alverno last Saturday.
Seniors honored today: The Muskies play their second-to-last home match fo the season but their last time at home on a weekend and thus will have Senior Day Saturday, with six seniors being honored before the game.

Isabella Westerholm plus assistant coach Cialinn Johnson all are four-year members of the team, all coming to Lakeland in 2021. The group has been part of 44 wins over their four years, including 27 conference victories. The Muskies have posted a 23-12 mark in the NACC over the last three years, and Carrasquillo, Stevens and Westerholm all will finish their careers among all-time statistical leaders at Lakeland.
