KOHLER – Senior Emily Pautz (Howards Grove, Wis.), Olivia Heling (Jr.-West Bend, Wis.) and Yuu Narita (Jr.-Tokyo, Japan) all were part of two wins each and the Lakeland University women's tennis team picked up its second dual win of the season, edging Marian University 4-3 Wednesday evening at Sports Core.

Pautz won a third-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles for one of the deciding wins as the Muskies won just enough to earn their second Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win of the season. Lakeland (2-7 overall, 2-6 NACC) has one match remaining in its fall season, traveling to take on St. Norbert College Saturday in De Pere.

Lakeland won the doubles point by taking both contested matches, including Narita and Pautz topping Josephine Bruce and Melana Brunton 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. Heling and Alexis Labonte (Fr.-Portage, Ind.) also pulled away quickly in their No. 1 doubles match to defeat Hazel Duchemin and Kendall Pliner 6-1.

Heling also cruised to the win at No. 1 singles, defeating Brunton 6-0, 6-2. Pautz and Duchemin split the first two sets at No. 3 singles before Pautz won the third-set tiebreaker for a 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 victory. Narita also was a winner, picking up her second No. 4 singles victory of the season by defeating Bruch 6-4, 7-5 in two hard-fought sets.

Labonte also went to a tiebreaker in her No. 2 singles match. The freshman won the first set before Pliner bounced back to take the second set, and then also won the tiebreaker for a 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 win.
