PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Lakeland University men's soccer team had an unpleasant entry into its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule in falling to St. Norbert College 5-0 Wednesday night at Taylor Field.

Kevin Ramirez scored three goals and the Green Knights dominated play throughout in winning both teams' NACC opener for the season. St. Norbert also won for the first time this year, improving to 1-4-2 overall, while the Muskies dropped to 1-5 overall.

Little went well for Lakeland throughout, as the Green Knights owned possession virtually from the start and finished with a 14-1 advantage in shots. St. Norbert scored its first goal in the 17th minute with Ramirez's first tally, and he added goals in the 33rd and 55th minutes.

The Green Knights led 2-0 at halftime, then needed just 1 minute, 22 seconds in the second half to score their third goal, as an errant throw-in led to Joe Meade scoring to make it 3-0. Everett Saeger added a goal in the 76th minute to round out the scoring.

Zach Heiman (Sr.-Racine, Wis.) and Matt English (Sr.-Cheyenne, Wyo.) shared time in goal and Heiman made six saves. Max Mirhashemi (Fr.-Appleton, Wis.) had the lone shot attempt for Lakeland in the first half, a header wide in the 36th minute.

The Muskies get another shot at home on Saturday when they host Concordia University Chicago at 1 p.m. at Taylor Field.
