HOWARDS GROVE, Wis. – The Lakeland University women's tennis team dropped its second straight dual of the season, falling to Concordia University Wisconsin 7-0 Saturday at the courts at Howards Grove High School.
The Muskies lost all four singles matches they competed in and both contested doubles matches. Lakeland dropped to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Mary Johnson (
Sr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) and
Olivia Heling (
Sr.-West Bend, Wis.) had the best showings for the Muskies, playing competitive matches in both singles and doubles.
The duo lost to Maddie Brashaw and Claire Kelley 6-3 at Number 1 doubles, and Johnson fell to Brashaw 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Heling also fell to Kelley 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
Ireland Brickner (
Jr.-South Milwaukee, Wis.) and
Madeline Diedrich (
Fr.-La Porte, Ind.) also took one game in their No. 2 doubles match before falling to Payton Steward and Taylor Weiner 6-1.
