The Lakeland University men's volleyball team hosts a pair of opponents for a total of three matches in its first home triangular of the season Saturday at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

Series history: Lakeland leads the all-time series against Maranatha Baptist 6-0. Olivet holds a 3-1 lead in the series against Maranatha, and Lakeland is 6-1 all-time against Olivet.

About Lakeland: The Muskies enter with a 1-2 record after a three-set loss Tuesday night at home to No. 2-ranked Carthage in Lakeland's home opener, falling 29-27, 25-15, 25-19. Colin Putchinski led the team with nine kills. The Muskies got a jump on the season over the rest of their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference brethren, playing three matches by Tuesday night with no other NACC schools beginning their seasons until Thursday.

About Maranatha Baptist: The Sabercats are an NCAA Division III independent and finished 0-20 last season. Maranatha has a new coach this year in Julie Allweil, and the Sabercats return five players from last year's team plus Luke Nason, a two-year starter for the team in 2022 and 2023.

About Olivet: The Comets opened their season just last night, falling in three sets at Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 25-18, 25-16, 25-12. Silas Martin led Olivet with nine kills. The Comets are a member of the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League and last year finished 3-21 overall.
