Series history: 7th meeting, Lakeland leads 4-2
The series between the Muskies and Regents dates back to 2021, Rockford's first year with a varsity program. The series has been mostly close throughout, including a pair of five-set matches, though Lakeland won last year's meeting convincingly with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-15 sweep at home March 22, 2025. The Regents' last win in the series was a three-set sweep at home March 8, 2023, and Rockford also won the first-ever meeting in four sets on its home court March 16, 2021. This is the fourth time the teams have met at  Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium, with Lakeland winning matches on its home court in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

Lakeland last time out: Won at Edgewood 3-1 Tuesday
The Muskies earned their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win of the season, defeating the Eagles 25-19, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23 in Madison. Lakeland posted a strong .291 hitting percentage for the match and was consistent almost from start to finish, hitting .233 or better in all four sets. Eli Weinrich sent home a career-high 16 kills and added three service aces, and five players in all posted double-digit kill totals including Sage Xiong with 12 kills, Jakob Donohue with 11 and Jordan Davis-Troller and Colin Putchinski with 10 kills apiece. Chase Anderson also rolled up 52 assists to tie a career high and Lakeland snapped a four-match losing streak, one that included a pair of losses to NCAA Division III top 10 teams (then No. 4 Cal Lutheran and No. 7 UC Santa Cruz).

Rockford last time out: Lost at Greenville (Ill.) 3-0 Tuesday
The Regents stepped out of conference and were defeated by Greenville's Panthers 25-17, 25-18, 25-15 on the road Tuesday.  Rockford was unable to slow down Greenville's attack, as the hosts hit .404 with 44 kills and just eight errors. Jordan Hurst, Joseis Dixon and Josh Bowling supplied almost all of the offensive attack for the Regents, with Hurst leading with 13 kills, Dixon posting seven kills and Bowling adding five kills.

About the Regents: Rockford has struggled this season and enters with a 1-13 record, with its lone win coming against Calumet-St. Joseph (Ind.) in a sweep Jan. 30. The Regents finished 6-21 last year and went winless in the NACC, and their last conference win came Feb. 6, 2024 against Concordia Chicago. Rockford does have one of the more prolific hitters in the conference in Jordan Hurst, who enters the day ranked sixth in the NACC in total kills.

Moving up the lists: Lakeland seniors Chase Anderson, Jakob Donohue, Jordan Davis-Troller and Eli Weinrich all continue to move up the Muskies' all-time varsity program career lists as they wind down their final season. Anderson continues to close in on Addison Mertler's program record of 2,554 assists from 2016-19, with Anderson  now 130 assists behind with 2,424 in his career. Donohue and Davis-Troller both are in the top five in career blocks, with Donohue's 170 blocks ranking third and Davis-Troller behind him in fourth with 147 blocks. Donohue also is currently third in career attack percentage (.303), and while Weinrich is not in the top five in a category yet, he is sixth all-time in for the Muskies with 555 digs, just six digs from tying Matt Stolz (2014-17) and Kyle Krogstad (2014-16) for fourth.
