Several Lakeland University Esports teams are in contention for conference and national championships as their seasons wind down in April.
The Muskies Call of Duty team is in the national championship match in the ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) Division D and will compete in a best-of-five match against Gallaudet University starting at 5 p.m. Lakeland defeated Army in the quarterfinals and West Virginia Wesleyan in the semifinals to advance to the championship in the bracket.
Following their game, Lakeland's Marvel Rivals team is in its conference championship for Division 3 in the (NECC) National Esports Collegiate Conference. The best-of-seven match against Minnesota State University-Mankato will begin at 7 p.m.
Students and spectators are encouraged to come watch and cheer the teams on in person in the Fish Bowl, Lakeland's Esports arena. If unable to make it in person, the matches will stream live on the team's Twitch channel at

Next week, Lakeland's Valorant and Marvel Rivals teams have made their respective national brackets for the NECC. Valorant will begin this coming Monday at a time to be determined, and the Marvel Rivals team will begin play on Tuesday in the round of 16, also at a time to be determined. If they win, the teams will play on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
