The series between the Muskies and Eagles started with both being part of the inaugural year of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in 2006. Lakeland won two of the first three meetings but since then Benedictine has won 14 of the last 15, including a 2-0 win last year at home in Lisle, Ill., when Natalia Ochab and Olivia Smycz scored goals less than five minutes apart midway through the second half. The Muskies did earn a 1-1 tie the year before to snap a 13-game losing streak to the Eagles, as Marlen Reyes scored with 4:57 left in the match to tie it up. Lakeland's last win in the series was a 5-0 triumph Oct. 25, 2008, as Lindsay Rogers scored twice and Amy Christenson, Brittney Smit and Megan Andrews all added single goals.

Lakeland last time out: Lost to Edgewood 4-1 Wednesday
The Muskies fell in a 4-0 hole in the first half before recovering to play better in the second half and even put a goal on the board late. Edgewood scored its first goal on a penalty kick just over eight minutes in, and then in a seven-minute stretch later in the half scored three more times. Lakeland scored with just under 10 minutes remaining in the match as Ines Rodriguez fired a shot from 25 yards out over the goalkeeper and into the net for her second goal of the season. Ingrid Steinbock made eight saves in goal for the Muskies, who were playing their first NACC game of the season.

Benedictine last time out: Lost at Concordia Wisconsin 5-1 Wednesday
The Eagles also got off to a tough start in the NACC, falling to the Falcons in Mequon in their conference opener. Concordia scored three times in the first half, including a goal with four seconds left in the half to take a 3-0 halftime lead. Audrey Powlick scored for Benedictine less than three minutes into the second half with an assist from Klara Cicha, but CUW answered with another goal just over a minute later and added one more in the 73rd minute. The Falcons outshot the Eagles 16-10, with the teams tied 8-8 in shots on goal. Ximena Delgado made three saves for Benedictine, which dropped to 1-5 with its lone win coming against Calumet-St. Joseph (Ind.) Sept. 10.

Senior Day: Lakeland will honor eight members of this year's team in Senior Day festivities before the match. Recognized will be Lia Armstrong, Mikayla Belasco, Emily Guy, Madie Linka, Ines Rodriguez, Taytum Theobald and Natalie White as well as Malaya Sperber, a junior playing her final season with the team. The group includes a trio of three-year starters in Armstrong, Belasco and Guy, a pair of second-year transfers in Linka and Rodriguez, plus one of the most explosive forwards in the program's history in Sperber, who has 17 goals and seven assists for 41 points in 38 matches in her career, and she is tied for 14th in school history in goals scored and ranks 17th all-time at Lakeland in points.
