The Warriors were edged on the road in Lisle, Ill., as the Eagles scored the match's lone goal in the 21st minute. WLC hung in despite being outshot 19-4, with Morgan Determan making seven saves. The loss came after the Warriors earned a 1-1 tie with St. Norbert a week ago, and also defeated Concordia Wisconsin 2-1 in their NACC opener Sept. 19. Lutheran has a new coach this year in Steve Bode, who took over after spending the past four years as head coach at NCAA Division I Loyola Chicago.
National leaders: Lakeland forwards
Dunia Wangu and
Isai Gil both rank among the NCAA Division III leaders in offensive categories entering Wednesday night. Wangu is tied for third nationally in Division III with his 10 goals, a mark that also leads the NACC. Gil also is tied for fourth in the country in assists with seven, leads the NACC in that category and has already tied the Muskies' single-season record for assists set by both Michael Heinen and Kyle Nothem in 1997.
