The series between the Muskies and Eagles began when both joined the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in 2006. Benedictine has held command of the series of late with a 12-0-1 mark in the last 13 meetings. That '1' came just last year, though, as Lakeland snapped a 12-game losing streak to the Eagles by earning a 1-1 tie on the road in Lisle, Ill., as Porter Gigstead scored the Muskies' goal. Benedictine's last win in the series was a 5-2 victory Sept. 28, 2024,  while Lakeland last defeated the Eagles on Sept. 12, 2009, when Ryan Malo scored the go-ahead goal in the 74th minute of a 4-3 Muskie win.

Lakeland last time out: Lost at Edgewood 5-0 Wednesday
The Muskies saw their six-game winning streak snapped by the two-time defending NACC champions on the road in both teams' conference opener. The score indicates otherwise but Lakeland played the Eagles on even terms for much of the match, and actually outshot Edgewood 24-18 but couldn't find the back of the net. Reigning NACC offensive player of the week Dunia Wangu had seven shots, Isai Gil and Woodlens Frederic both added three shots and in all 12 different players took at least one shot.

Benedictine last time out: Defeated Concordia Wisconsin 2-1 Wednesday
The Eagles opened NACC play with a win over the Falcons as Eryk Molek scored the go-ahead goal in the 58th minute. Krystof Cicha also scored a goal and assisted on Molek's goal, and Benedictine won despite being outshot 20-11 in the game, including 12-6 in the second half. Abrahm Tiburcio made nine saves in goal to get the win for the Eagles, who played their fourth match decided by a goal or less and won for the first time since a 2-0 victory over Eureka on Labor Day.
