<p>The women's soccer team (4-3-1) continued its win streak on Wednesday with a non-conference road victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering 1-0.</p> <p>Although the teams went into halftime deadlocked at 0-0 the Muskies came out firing in the second half, resulting in a goal by sophomore Amy Christenson on an assist from junior Laura Engel 45 seconds into the new period.</p> <p>"We put MSOE under a lot of pressure to start out the second half," said head coach Dave Madsen. "It was nice to get the goal since they caught us a few times in the back during the first half and Alli had to make a few saves."</p> <p>MSOE out-shot the Muskies six shots to five, but senior goalkeeper Alli Weiss was able to keep the ball out of the net to record the shutout.</p> <p>Lakeland's back line also put forth a strong effort to deny the Raiders their first win of the season, as the team played mostly on their half of the field after scoring the lone goal.</p> <p>"It was hard to get in the flow of play after we scored because the field was getting slippery," said Madsen. "We just tried to keep the pressure up and played out of the back for the rest of the game."</p> <p>Heading into Saturday's Northern Athletics Conference match-up with Maranatha Baptist at home, Madsen is pleased with how his team is coming together after fighting off some injuries.</p> <p>"Elisa (Waltz) won a lot of balls at midfield for us to help stop their attack and get ours going the other way," he said. "Leslie Oskey also had a strong game at left back. She's not playing like a freshman at all. She was tough to beat and asserted herself as a threat on the field."</p> <p>Game time for Saturday, September 23, is set for 1 p.m. at Muskie Field, followed by the men's game at 3:30 p.m.<br/> </p>
