Milwaukee School of Engineering guard Shaylan Reardon scored 27 points and the Lakeland College women's basketball team was defeated 79-61 Wednesday night at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
Reardon made13 of 17 shots from the field, and in all MSOE shot 53.1% for the game in sweeping the season series from the Muskies, who dropped to 6-13 overall and 6-9 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
The visiting Raiders (14-5 overall, 10-4 NACC) delivered an efficient and crisp offensive performance, making 31 of 58 shots and finishing with assists on 24 of those 31 baskets. MSOE took control with a 25-7 run in the first half and was in command the rest of the way, at one point shooting at a 61.5% rate.
Lakeland kept up for a half, making 14 of 31 shots (45.2%) in the opening 20 minutes to trail 41-33 at halftime. The Muskies got within six at the start of the second half on a basket by
Rachel Stankevich (
Fr.-Goodman, Wis.), but the Raiders reeled off a 17-2 run, taking their largest lead after a jumper by Reardon made it 58-37 with 13:43 to play.
Lakeland got as close as 12 the rest of the way.
Mikayla Hilton (
So.-Port Washington, Wis.) scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half, and her bucket in the paint got the Muskies as close as 68-56 with 5:32 left.

Bailey Grayvold (
So.-Norway, Mich.) led Lakeland with 12 points each, while Stankevich added 11. The Muskies shot 39.7% for the game, hitting 25 of 63 shots.
Holly Denfeld added 18 points for the Raiders, who also won the rebounding battle 35-33.
Lakeland is home again Saturday when it hosts Maranatha Baptist University at 2 p.m. in a non-conference tilt at the Woltzen Gym.
