The Lakeland University women's volleyball team faces another top Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference foe, this time at home, when it welcomes Edgewood College tonight at 7 p.m. at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Muskies (10-10 overall, 3-2 NACC) will play their third straight match against a team that finished in the top three in the conference a year ago. Lakeland defeated defending conference tourney winner Dominican in five sets last Wednesday and most recently was swept in three sets by Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday.
Brittini Scoles (
Jr.-Kewaskum, Wis.) finished with 12 kills, close to half of the team's total of 29 kills, and
Taylor Levitt (
Sr.-Schaumburg, Ill.) added 16 digs.
Edgewood (12-10 overall, 4-1 NACC) is the defending conference regular season champion and has weathered an uneven start to the year to win its last four matches. That includes a 25-14, 25-23, 25-18 win over Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday in NACC play. Emily Chaussee led the attack with 13 kills and just two errors in 23 swings, Elizabeth Evans totaled 10 kills and Savannah Koester added eight kills. Renee Meister also had five blocks.
