Lakeland baseball team defeated by Bethel, UW-Stout in Florida

Box Score 1 FORT MYERS, Fla. – Drew Richard (Sr.-Kieler, Wis.) posted three hits and two runs batted in over two games but the Lakeland University baseball team lost twice on its fourth day of competition Thursday at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Games.

The Muskies were blanked by Bethel (Minn.) University 12-0 in the first game of the day and then dropped a 10-5 decision to the University of Wisconsin-Stout in their second game, dropping the team's record to 4-3 on its spring break trip.

Lakeland had few bright spots on the scoreboard, trailing from the first inning on in both games. The Muskies did record eight hits in each game, including six different players posting multi-hit games.

Richard went 2-for-4 in the first game and then added a two-run single in the second game. Peyton Knoll (Jr.-Linden, Mich.) also had a two-run single among two hits against Stout, and Ben Schecter (Fr.-Woodland Hills, Calif.) also added a single and a double and scored twice.

Connor Hilburn (Jr.-Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.), Alberto Oliveras (Fr.-Fort Myers, Fla.) and Jacob Plucinski (Fr.-Chicago, Ill.) all added two hits in the opener against Bethel.
