The Muskies (8-6 overall) evened their NACC record at 1-1 on Tuesday with a three-set sweep of Alverno. Lakeland rolled to a 25-14, 25-11, 25-18 win, hitting a season-best .397 as a team. Shannon Bishop (Jr.-River Grove, Ill.) did much of the damage with 13 kills without an error in 21 attacks (.619 hitting percentage) and also added four block assists, and the Muskies won to snap a brief two-match losing streak after they had lost twice this past Saturday at the UW-Eau Claire Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament.

Edgewood (2-10 overall, 1-1 NACC) also played on Tuesday and was defeated 25-18, 25-19, 24-26, 25-21 by Concordia Wisconsin. The Eagles were able to take a set off of the two-time defending NACC champions but could get no further and lost their fifth straight match, including four matches last weekend while also participating in the Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament. Sarah Pfeifer totaled 10 kills and Mackenzie Doherty added nine against Concordia.

The Muskies won last year's meeting in three sets in Madison, as Shelby Welsh (Sr.-Ogallala, Neb.) posted 14 kills and added 10 digs and Allison Errthum totaled 20 digs as Lakeland defeated Edgewood for the first time since 2009. The Eagles had won the previous 10 matchups in the series, sweeping every match from 2010-16, the last coming with a three-set sweep here at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium on Oct. 11, 2016. Prior to Edgewood's recent streak, Lakeland had won 18 straight over the Eagles from 2000-09.
