Kassahun Lehman (
Sr.-Whitelaw, Wis.) ran a season-best time and
Andy Reimer (
Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.),
Tyler Jensen (
So.-Sheboygan, Wis.) and
Emily Petersen (
So.-Menominee, Mich.) were among runners posting personal bests as the Lakeland University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Gene Davis Invitational hosted by Lawrence University Saturday.
Lehman finished 54th individually for the best finish of the day for the men's squad. He completed the men's eight-kilometer race in 28 minutes, 30 seconds, topping his previous season best by almost a minute.
Reimer, Jensen and
Cameron Marshall all also ran personal record times. Reimer finished in 32:07.6, Jensen bested his previous low mark by over 30 seconds when he came home in 33:05.6, and Marshall completed the race in 37:11.4.
Kevon Holbrook (
Fr.-Bourbonnais, Ill.) and
Kurtis Scharenbroch (
So.-Sheboygan, Wis.) ran the second- and third-best times for the men's squad, respectively. Holbrook came in 87th with a time of 30:42.9, while Scharenbroch ran a season-best time in finishing 93rd in 31:23.2.
Nathalie Cairo (
So.-Kenosha, Wis.) posted the best finish of the day by a Lakeland runner, taking 50th in the 6K women's race. Cairo finished with a time of 27:02.3.
Kayla Bruton (
So.-Milwaukee, Wis.) closed in 68th place with a time of 28:00.4, while Petersen set her PR while coming in 81st with a time of 28:39.5, a full 45 seconds better than her previous best set last season.
Rachel Ulatowski (
Sr.-Fredonia, Wis.) also finished for Lakeland, coming in 100th with a time of 34:17.
The Lakeland cross country teams next weekend will compete in the Wisconsin Private College Championships, to be held at Colburn Park in Green Bay.
