WEST ALLIS, Wis. –
Emma Ziepke (
Fr.-Manawa, Wis.),
Travis Eitel (
Jr.-Pine Island, Minn.) and
Owen Luedtke (
Jr.-Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) all ran among their fastest career times as the Lakeland University cross country teams finished their seasons at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships at Greenfield Park.
Ziepke finished well inside the top half of the 106 finishers in the women's six-kilometer race, coming in 45th for the Muskies' best individual finish. The freshman finished in 26 minutes, 30.0 seconds, less than five seconds off her career best set in her last race two weeks ago at the Wisconsin Private College Championships.
Ziepke also ran a time of 29:43.1 on the very same course at the Wisconsin Lutheran Warrior Invitational less than a month earlier Sept. 30. She cut more than three minutes off her time at that event and was among the top 10 finishing freshmen at the NACC Championship.

Eitel posted his best time of the season running the men's 8K race. He finished in 30:01.0 to place 76th individually, cutting more than 1:07 off his previous season best set in his last race at the Wisconsin Private College Championships.
Luedtke set a personal best for the second straight race, finishing with a time of 34:01.3. He cut 31 seconds off his previous career low time set in his last race, when he ran under 35 minutes for the first time in his career at the Private College Championships.
"We were a very small team this year, but I could not be happier with the quality of people these three runners are, and how hard they worked," said Lakeland head coach
Pete Barth. "I'm pleased all three got to enjoy their finest performances of the season today, because they all deserve it."
